Today is Interational Talk Like a Pirate Day.
Does anyone know what actual evidence we have that pirates really talked like this?

I am fairly certain that pirates spoke like that. Why else would they talk like that in all the movies? Duh? More importantly, when did pirates lose their accents? I know we all had British accents until fairly recently. I bet pirates still speak like that in certain far corners of the globe.
Thanks for posting this important information. I totally didn't see this until today, one day after the very important holiday.
