Sox Win AL Central

In an irregular bit of semi-conventional news, I happily report that the Chicago White Sox have officially clinched the American League Central Division Title, their first since 2000, by defeating the Detroit Tigers 4-2 this afternoon.

Here is a nice photo gallery of their celebration.

I would just like to point out that I thought long and hard about removing this post, as it goes against everything NegativeMode stands for. I don't like baseball, but more than that, I don't view this as a forum for extolling my various team's virtues and victories.

However, the one thing stronger than all of that is NegativeMode's love of the first amendment and refusal to stifle the voice of others. So, enjoy your victory PositiveMode. I won't rain on your parade. Go Sox.

Normally I would agree with you, but please bear in mind that the White Sox have not won a playoff game since 1993, and have not won a playoff series since 1917, the team's last World Series Championship. This is more than just fan puffery, it is truly News.
