2005 World Champions: The Pittsburgh Steelers

Final Score: Pittsburgh Steelers 21 - Seattle Seahawks 10

I've been waiting 26 years of my life for the Steelers to win the Superbowl. They did that tonight. Maybe I'll write more about it tomorrow ... I'm too happy right now. Amazing. What a great run. Go STEELERS!!!!!

yes, negativemode is proving to be quite hypocritical when it comes to sports postings. it seems he's engaging in a classic case of viewpoint discrimination. and while i understand his excitement, and i can't say that pittsburgh is undeserving, that was a rather pathetic victory. it almost seemed neither team really wanted to win. i mean, the winning qb had a 22.6 rating. i think i could manage a 22.6 rating. would anyone outside of pittsburgh and seattle fans have kept watching if they didn't have money riding on it?

This is what I wrote on Thursday, September 29, 2005:

I would just like to point out that I thought long and hard about removing [PositiveMode's post re: the White Sox winning the AL Central], as it goes against everything NegativeMode stands for. I don't like baseball, but more than that, I don't view this as a forum for extolling my various team's virtues and victories.

Clearly, that was an inaccurate statement, as I LOVE extolling my various teams virtues and victories. What I meant to type was, "I don't view this as a forum for extolling any one else's various teams' virtues and victories." Not really, I just didn't think I'd have many virtues and victories to be extolling. This was quite a year for my two football teams, Orange Bowl winners Penn State and the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers.

In the future, I will be celebrating any championships by either of those two teams very publicly and loudly. This is most definitely viewpoint discrimination, but then again, that is the very essence of blogging. That is all.

Why do you hate Pittsburgh so much? I think you told me once, but I forget.

The game was on ABC, not CBS, so no need to feel sorry for them (maybe for the fact that they've relied so heavily on Dabney Coleman in the past).

Miami of Ohio is known as "the Northwestern of Ohio", so I wouldn't get too down on it. Then again, you're down on everything.

Pardon me, Mr. Negative-goat-cheese-ham-Mode: East, North, South or West, there is only one Northwestern!

Please don't bring Dabney Coleman into this. Let the confused computer mastermind remain in Wargames.

And, BrownBearMode, it's OK that you're scared of water. Really. It's not like you live on a peninsula surrounded by it, or that portions of the city in which you live may liquify in an earthquake and descend into the sea.
