Thursday's Confession

I think Breakaway, by Kelly Clarkson, is fantastic. I really do. There's not much more I can say to elucidate or elaborate on that point. I think it has something to do with the fact that I wake up to one of her songs 2 out of 5 days of the week (the radio station on my alarm clock seriously plays one of KC's songs at 7 am every morning). Either way, it is a dirty little secret of mine and now you know. Hopefully, we're closer now because of this.

As an entertaining diversion, I highly recommend spending some time reading reviews of "From Justin To Kelly". Each one is worse than the one before it.

[Reader Note: in the interest of full disclosure, I must report that this comment is excerpted from an email sent to none other than NegativeMode earlier this morning. It was requested that I post it as a comment]

I thought about commenting but decided it wouldn't really add much - I wasn't going to comment on your taste for the music (which, while lame, is not totally ridiculous because a few of her songs are catchy and well-produced), but rather that picture. Celebrities always look better than real life in their glamour/press/mag shots but this is ridiculous. Looks like they airbrushed Hilary Duff's face onto that picture (onto an airbrushed-thin pic of Kelly Clarkson's body, I suppose). Despite very major makeover efforts expended on her behalf, Kelly Clarkson is still quite unattractive. I think it's comical the efforts that the celebrity press makes to describe her as "improved" to some level attractiveness, when she has achieved anything but.

For instance, here is a more authentic picture of Kelly Clarkson:

and this one isn't even that bad.

Here are PositiveMode's two links from above, both linkified so you don't have to cut and paste, cause I know most of you are extremely lazy:

i don't know any of her songs, because i don't listen to the radio. but i don't think there's anything wrong with liking a cheesy pop song once in a while.

it's worth noting that metacritic always posts scores from highest to lowest, so each one is always worse than the one before it.
